Cool Arts

History

Cool Arts began in the spring of 2003, when interested individuals began brainstorming about a group that would provide Fine Arts opportunities for local adults with developmental disabilities.

The need was apparent for such a group and the first full day workshop was held in September 2003. Non-profit status was obtained in August 2004.

Since then, Cool Arts has offered weekend workshops every month, excluding December and summer. Themes of the workshops have included painting, collage, sculpture, mixed-media, music and mask-making – to list a few!

Workshop instructors are either professional artists or art educators.
