RE:RECORD

This exhibition takes a new look at some old music. On display at the Kelowna Community Theatre (1375 Water Street) through July and August, this series of re-imagined album art shares the powerfully unique perspectives of artists living with developmental disabilities as inspired by well known tunes. This exhibition is part of the Artscape program through the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) and has been supported by Milkcrate Records.

2

Cool Arts’ exhibition 2 is currently on display at the Rotary Centre for the Arts until the end of August. Don't miss this international celebration of work by artists with developmental disabilities from both Cool Arts and Portland Art & Learning Studios (PALS). This exhibition opened simultaneously in Kelowna and Portland, featuring live-streaming at each studio where visitors could interact with each other from the two locations.

L to R: Courtney Rogers (Cool Arts Director), Robert Farley (member artist), Kathy Almas (Gallery Assistant), and Melanie Marcotte (member artist and Cool Arts Director) talk to visitors at the PALS 2 exhibition opening in Portland, Oregon via live-stream.

Cool Arts Feature

This spring, Cool Arts welcomed two UBC teacher candidates into the studio as part of their education field experience. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors!

We’d like to give a special shout-out to acclaimed comic artist John Delaney for joining us at our KFX themed Community Art Night on March 21 to share his knowledge of and enthusiasm for comic books!
